Governor’s Executive Budget Proposal Includes Funding for Key Real Estate Department Initiative
Funding to implement new software licensing system
Phoenix, AZ — Today, Governor Hobbs released her FY2026 Executive Budget, which funds critical programs and efforts that allows the Department to continue to provide license management, continuing education for licensees, and an accessible database with real estate licensee information for the public to make informed decisions.
“Governor Hobbs’ commitment to provide funding for a safe, secure, and accessible technology solution is a direct investment in the future of the Department of Real Estate and Arizona’s 84,000 licensees. With this initiative included in the Governor’s budget, the Department is able to continue to offer online services, maintain efficiencies-gained, and plan for and build future opportunities for our licensees and the public.”
Arizona Department of Real Estate initiative funded in the budget proposal includes:
- $1.96 Million one-time General Fund appropriation. The 28-year-old custom-developed licensing system used by the Department of Real Estate, its nearly 84,000 licensees, and the public was designed and is maintained by a single Department employee who will soon retire. Migrating to a commercially-supported licensing system addresses critical continuity of operations risk.
